The European Laboratory Robotics Interest Group (ELRIG.de) is pleased to announce this year’s Forum “Small Molecules and Biologics – From Lab to Data”, taking place in March 2026 in Darmstadt.
Modern laboratory research faces a new challenge: breakthroughs in technologies such as 3D cell culture, ADCs, CRISPR, protein degraders (PROTACs, molecular glues), next-generation sequencing, high-resolution microscopy, and robotics unlock unprecedented opportunities—yet simultaneously generate exponentially growing volumes of complex data. To realize the full value of these experiments, data must be captured, structured, managed, and analyzed—not just stored.
Unfortunately, much of today’s laboratory data is still recorded manually, unstructured, or incompletely—leading to the loss of valuable insights from expensive experiments. Integrating modern digital tools such as AI and machine learning (ML) is no longer a future vision, but a critical necessity for contemporary labs.
The ELRIG.de Forum 2026 brings together scientists, technology providers, and lab leaders to showcase concrete solutions: How can we bridge the gap between experiment and structured data? How can modern analytics and automation be applied effectively? And how can digital lab communication be designed to *accelerate*—not hinder—research?
Key themes include automation, lab digitization, data integration, and the application of AI/ML in drug discovery—illustrated with real-world use cases from industry and academia.
