Merck's compound library contains more than 1,000,000 Small Molecules. Most of them are in solid form and have to be delivered in milligram scale fractions for intern and extern biological tests. Due to the substances variety, the small available quantities and the continuous demand, is a clean dispense in short time a big challenge by the compound management.

This presentation will introduce a fully automated platform which is able to transfer a precise quantity of powder from a source bottle to a different recipients. The whole process, including transport, scan, open, close and tare weight of the bottles, is done automatically in a closed chassis to avoid any cross contamination and achieve a nonstop dispense which reduce the waiting time for the molecule scientist. Through a user friendly software is a workflow change and a continual interaction with the interne data base guarantied.
The first results of the system, its benefits, and the future development will be presented in this lecture.
